Ferrari Challenge July 2006
The Hawaiian Islands Model Car Club had their Ferrari Model Car Contest on July 23, 2006. The rules were simple: build any scale Ferrari model kit any way you wanted, as long as the model was Ferrari powered. David Sorenson took home first place with his beautiful 1/12 Lancia/Ferrari 1956 D50. Bryn Scott took second place honors with his well-done Tamiya 1/24 Ferrari F-40. Gregg Hutchings nabbed third with his Gunze-Sangyo 250 GTO 1/24 scale Ferrari. Some of the other great models seen here are Glen Rilveria's Revell 360 Modena Spyder, Rich Robertson's California GT Spyder, and Alan Freitas had four Ferrariís: a 348, a 288 GTO, and two Testrarossas, one convertible and the other a hardtop. Chris Delfico had his Testarossa as a work-in-progress, showing off his weathering and body damage skills. Our next challenge will be a Porsche Challenge; with anything Porsche powered being allowed, in any scale.
Our Magnum Challenge is coming up to its end. The June 24, 2007 meeting is the deadline for all finished or unfinished models.
